***NOTICE*** As of this writing, this mod will no longer be getting support. What's here is it. I have not been able to find any "proof" but it seems that Saber had managed to break many of the things for which I created this mod to over come. Primarily I learned the XML for Snowrunner so I could make trucks which allowed me to forgo the many hours grinding through mud just to complete one mission. Since better tires were the means to accomplish this, I made "super" tires that drove through mud and snow with little issue. Somewhere in the last two updates from Saber, they changed how the tires interact with the surfaces. The truck began to sink when it was stopped, it refused to roll from a stop, and the brakes fade when used (both E-brake and main brakes). From my testing, it seems that the mass of the trucks have a bigger impact on brakes and the mass of the cargo has also changed (for the worse). All in all, in order for my modded truck to work as designed (and did when released), I have to turn down the specs of the tries to a level that is no better than standard game values. This makes this mod mostly worthless to me as do my other mods. I'm not going to spend more time just to figure out how to work in a new universe with different laws.

I wish you all good health and good luck, both with the game and with other mods. I don't think I'm alone but I'm surely not going to continue in this environment.

P.S. If there is anyone out there that wants to take over this mod, please do. As there is nothing proprietary in the mod, just download the .zip file and put it into your mod folder. Just change the name of the truck .XML and the pictures so anything you put out to public does not conflict with this version. Good Luck.

21 Jan. 2021 - 0115 GMT : Updated tires to address issues. I was able to do some testing (and lose some sleep) and it seems that the tire specs I was using were just a little too aggressive. They made the tires grip so well that they did not want to roll. I have changed the tires to a less aggressive level and that seems to have helped a lot. I'm not sure this will fix the parking brake issue but my tests did not show any real problems. However, the issue was not easy to reproduce so I can not be completely sure if everything is good. Please leave me a message if you experience any issues. Thank you. (The update making it to console will take a few days as it has to be reviewed and moved over. I suspect it will be available soon)

20 Jan. 2021 - 0700 GMT : I have been experiencing some issues with stopping and starting as well not having the parking brake work as it should. I got a message from one of the users stating the same thing. I am looking into the problems and will post an update when I have identified the cause and have a fix. As it is not all the time, it is taking a little testing to duplicate the issue and then apply a possible fix. I hope to have something by the 22nd. Thank you for being patient.

- Large fuel capacity - 600L

- The Engines have been changed and updated to have more power. The better engines are more than adequate for any hauling. I have reduced their responsiveness so may seems sluggish.

- It has a Maintenance Frame Addon with unrealistic values: 2500 repair, 2000L fuel, and 10 tire repairs to make this a mobile service hub

- Faster and sharper steering

- Fulltime Diff. Lock with engageable AWD

- Extra long and strong offline winch

- I've included a full set of tires with higher specs. I've also added in a couple of special "snow tires" which are mud tires with extra specs to work on ice. These are in the Chain Tire category. All tires cost $4000. All of the available tires are set up the same so all tires should be very similar in performance. There are NO game based tires included nor are there any extra wide tires (i.e. Quasimoto Mud Tires)

- A custom gearbox and active suspension to take advantage of the better tires. The Normal and Raised suspensions also work pretty well.

- The truck has its mass adjusted to keep it more firmly on the ground. It can tip and it does carry the front tires under load. The custom suspension is better than the normal and raised options and seems to make the truck much easier to drive on rough trails

- The custom gearbox does provide some good speed in top gears and the low gears provide plenty of power to go up hills and through mud. You will need one of the better motors to haul heavy loads. If you like the original gearboxes, they are available.

- Several new Snorkels

- Most, if not all, items are unlocked. I don't recall seeing any locks but that does not mean there aren't any. Sorry

Love the mod!! One issue I have been having is when you hit the gas to go forward the truck starts to reverse while in AWD from a stop and vise versa. It’s kinda like the front wheels are going backwards and the rears are going forwards fighting each other. It only happens when I’m in deep mud. Also the brakes and handbrake seem kinda glitchy like they don’t want to work sometimes. Other than that love the truck!

I pushed out an update with the tires reduced a little in their specs. It should not change the performance much and it did seem to help with the issues described. As it was tough to duplicate the problems reliably, I can't be completely sure I fixed it. I've used the truck for a couple of complete missions in Michigan and did not see the problem. Please let me know if you have any. Thank you

I'm aware if this. It seems my extra sticky tires are to blame as I only get this when I push the tire specs to way above normal. I've tried to find the exact issue but have not been able to pin-point it. I guess I need to get back on that and work it out. I'll post an update when I have a "fix" but it may impact something else. Thank you for the info as I was beginning to think it was just my install.

Could you put some qauzi tires in there?

rfzl7007
rfzl7007 @rfzl7007

Not at this time. I've looked into it, but have not done much else. There are a couple of these trucks with the tires from Quasi. JBE is one and he has some nice stuff. I take it you like the truck. Glad it made it to console sooner rather than later.

Great mod but could you please unlock the cross-wheel differential as in real? No one truck have the permanent differential block otherwise it will get big problem with a cornering control and some other issues.

I looked into setting the DiffLock to engageable, but the performance in hauling really took a hit. Going up hills, through mud or snow, and overall; it just did not perform as well. As noted in the description of this mod, this is NOT intended to emulate the real thing. It is my take on a truck that handles the way I want and goes where I want without much of the hassles or issues from the terrain. Sorry, this feature will not change. Perhaps one of the other mods will suit you better.

Ok, this is just the game and you are as engineer of this truck here) In any case it's great mod!

Great mod so far , needs different front bumpers, maybe bigger tire i enjoy it on console

rfzl7007
rfzl7007 @rfzl7007

Bumpers and tires are limited to the space allowed. The tires are about as big as possible before the rear tires start to interfere with each other. There is the Quasi tires which are wider but then you run the issue of having such a high lift for clearance that you ruin the handling. I have not looked into other bumpers at this time, perhaps soon. There is the JBE mod that does have the large tires, perhaps that might fit your needs better. Thank you for the response.

Thanks for the info. I hope the approve it also, looks awesome.... the only reason I asked is im new to the game and still working out how the mod testing process works

rfzl7007
rfzl7007 @rfzl7007

By the way, there may already be some mods similar to this one already available. If you haven't used the "Mod Browser" from the game's main menu, give it a try. If you have already, then I guess you wait. Bummer.

Good luck. As for how it works, it's simple. You Subscribe, turn it "on", it downloads, and you see it in the Truck Store. For me, I play through a game at least once without any mods, then decide on what parts of the game I like, and pick the mods (or make my own) to help reduce the grind in doing the parts I don't care for but have to do to progress. This is why I have this "cheat" truck. I want to explore and pick up the upgrades and trucks. I don't want to be frustrated when my truck tips over with every gust of wind or rock in the road. Its a real pain when you have a delivery almost done and you lose your cargo. Hope you get access to the mods you want and have fun.

Would you consider bringing to console

rfzl7007
rfzl7007 @rfzl7007

I have confirmed that PC mods are only available on console once mod.io and Saber have approved them. As my mod(s) are based only on existing game files, they "should" pop up on console at some point. It could be a day, a week, or more. It depends on how the powers to be do the approval process. I hope you can get it soon. This has turned out to be a very good all-a-round truck.

rfzl7007
rfzl7007 @rfzl7007

Not my call. The package is built with all environments supported but I can't control what happens to it once its uploaded. I'm not sure, but I think that PC mods are ported to console every few days so keep an eye out. You may do a search on this and see what you can find. Sorry I'm not more help.

Easy enough to do. I'll get it on my to-do list of things to change and push it out with next upload. Likely within the next few hours. Thank you for the comments
